CMP Scholarship Fund

Purpose:

MPI – GCC is dedicated to advancing the professional goals of its members, thereby increasing their competency, enhancing their career opportunities, and improving the quality of their professional life. The MPI – GCC Board of Directors has established a scholarship program to provide their members professionals financial aid for the training and expenses involved in obtaining their CMP designations.  The intent of the program is to provide a scholarship award (up to $500) to a member in good standing of MPI – GCC. The scholarship may be used to cover the expenses of the application and registration by the member so that the burden of individual contributions may be lightened, though not necessarily eliminated.

Goal:

The goal of the Scholarship Fund is to have members pursue professional development in the CMP program, which will benefit both themselves and the MPI - GCC  Chapter. Continued involvement and leadership in the MPI - GCC  Chapter is expected of Scholarship winners.

Obligation of the Applicant:

It will be the obligation and responsibility of the applicant to submit to the CMP Scholarship Committee an application and any additional information requested. Funds will not be available in advance, but will be reimbursed upon successful receipt of the CMP Certification.

Who is Eligible:

Members in good standing of MPI - GCC  Chapter and have been involved in the Chapter for a six month period are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must have successfully completed the CMP application and passed the CMP exam.

Application Procedures and Deadlines:

Candidates meeting the criteria outlined below must complete the Scholarship Application Form, and the completed form must be submitted by November 30 for the 1st quarter exam and by May 31 for the third quarter exam, along with a copy of the CMP application approval form. Applications will be reviewed by a minimum of three (3) members of the MPI – GCC Board of Directors, and the successful candidate will be approved by the Board of Directors in a majority vote. Applicants will be informed for the summer exam in June and for the winter exam in November. Grants will be issued following the successful completion of the CMP exam. The candidate will need to present original receipts and the final certificate in order to receive the funds. These documents need to be submitted within 3 months after writing the exam.
